One person was killed Saturday in a collision with a semi-trailer on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at 3:04 a.m. Saturday to the North Garfield Avenue exit of the eastbound freeway where they learned the victim was traveling in a white sedan and a collision between of the vehicles occurred, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

The victim, whose name, age and gender were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montebello Fire Department.

A SigAlert issued by the CHP at 3:40 a.m. for the closure of one lane the eastbound 60 freeway at the North Garfield exit was cancelled at 6:42 a.m.
