A man was shot dead in Huntington Beach over the weekend and a suspect was in custody Monday morning.
Officers responded at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to the 4500 block of Scenario Drive to a report of shots fired and found a man with gunshot wounds, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The man was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to HBPD Major Crimes Unit Detective Sgt. Anthony Pham.
His name was not immediately available.
The suspect in the killing, identified as Robert Emery, 48, of Huntington Beach, was arrested and booked into the city jail on suspicion of murder after police conducted interviews and collected evidence at the scene, Pham said.
“Detectives believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public,” he said.
