One person was killed Monday when a minivan and a car collided on the Gardena (91) Freeway in Carson.
The crash was reported at 12:38 a.m. Monday on the westbound Gardena Freeway just west of Central Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles were blocking the HOV lane, the CHP said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
A news videographer who went to the scene said one injured person was taken to a hospital.
The CHP issued a SigAlert shutting down the westbound HOV lane and lanes 1, 2 and 3. The lanes were reopened at 4:18 a.m.
