A 35-year-old woman who died when a car apparently crashed into the rear of a parked big rig on the shoulder of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Newhall was identified Thursday by county authorities.

Claudia Funk was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as the victim.

The collision was reported at 11:51 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound 14 Freeway just north of the Golden State (5) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim — who was found wedged beneath the truck — was pronounced dead at the scene, a CHP officer said.

According to a report from the scene, a Toyota Corolla struck the parked truck along the right shoulder, trapping Funk inside the vehicle.

A SigAlert was issued at 12:15 p.m., closing two northbound lanes, according to the CHP.
