A temporary interruption to police radio services in Cathedral City caused by vandalism at a local radio tower was fixed and working properly, authorities said Wednesday.

The department was advised of the interruption by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

The department experienced radio communication issues with limited reception and reduced coverage, though police said all phone lines, including emergency and non-emergency numbers, remained fully operational.

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, the system was restored.

Anyone with information about the vandalism was asked to contact the department at 760-770-0300, or report tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
