A car plowed into a house at a Wildomar intersection Friday, causing significant damage inside and outside the residence, but no injuries.
The crash was reported at 12:07 p.m. in the 22200 block of Summer Sage Way, at the corner of Sunnybrook Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said several engine crews were sent to the location and discovered that the vehicle had smashed through the closed attached garage, running straight into waterworks, breaking pipes in the single-story home.
The motorist was not hurt, nor were any of the property’s occupants.
Inspectors from the Wildomar Building & Safety Department were dispatched to determine whether the house been structurally compromised. There were additional concerns about natural gas lines, and technicians from SoCal Gas were summoned to examine the property, though officials did not say there was a leak.
Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the occupants with finding temporary alternate lodgings.
Sheriff’s deputies were investigating the cause of the crash.
