A 74-year-old man who was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in a Beverly Grove intersection was identified by county authorities Friday.
The crash occurred at 1:08 a.m. Monday at La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center. That is near the Beverly Center.
The vehicle was northbound on La Cienega Boulevard when it struck the man — identified as Leopold Trumpet by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office — who was in the street at San Vicente Boulevard, the officer said.
Trumpet was rushed to a hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead, said the officer.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, he added.
