Two suspects were taken into custody following a brief vehicle pursuit Monday that began in the Hacienda Heights area, ending in a crash in nearby La Puente.
The pursuit began at 9:41 a.m. and ended at 9:43 a.m. in the area Valley Boulevard and Ardilla Avenue in La Puente, where the two suspects were taken into custody, according to a watch commander at the sheriff’s Industry station.
It was unclear where in the Hacienda Heights area the pursuit began.
Deputies were pursuing an alleged reckless driving/DUI suspect who crashed into the side of a big rig trailer in La Puente, leaving him and a passenger briefly trapped. According to reports from the scene, the passenger had to be extricated.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department public information officer could not be reached for immediate comment about the condition of the injured passenger.
There was no other immediate information.
