A 27-year-old man was charged Wednesday with killing a man in Fullerton and then leading police on a chase that ended with a crash in Buena Park.
Francisco Soriano Jr. of Fullerton was charged with murder, assault with a weapon on a peace officer and leading police on a chase. He also faces sentencing enhancements for allegedly committing a crime while out on bail and personal use of a deadly weapon. The weapons were a screwdriver and a vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.
Soriano Jr. is accused of killing 42-year-old Alen Sabah Odisho of Anaheim. He was out on bail at the time in a case out of Buena Park in which he was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a count of criminal threats, all felonies.
Officers responded to a call of a stabbing at about 8:50 p.m. Sunday near South Euclid Street and West Baker Avenue, according to the Fullerton Police Department. The witness said the victim was possibly run over as well, police said.
Odisho was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after authorities issued a bulletin for the suspect vehicle, Buena Park police responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision there and tracked down Soriano, police said.
Soriano has a lengthy criminal history for car theft and drugs, according to court records. He was convicted July 3 for misdemeanor counts of petty theft, falsely representing himself to an officer and resisting arrest for stealing a vacuum cleaner from a Target.
