A 21-year-old man who was fatally shot in South Los Angeles was identified by county authorities Friday.
Bryan Canales was identified as the victim by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.
Officers responded at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday to the 8200 block of South Vermont Avenue, four blocks north of Manchester Avenue, to reports of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police confirmed that as detectives conducted an investigation a canopy was erected because Canales died at the scene.
The motive for the shooting remained under investigation and police are looking for multiple suspects.
Several unidentified female suspects wearing dark-colored clothing were last seen heading eastbound on 83rd Street toward a parking garage, police said.
