An 80-year-old pedestrian who was fatally struck by the driver of a Maserati Quattroporte in a hit-and-run in Sherman Oaks was identified Saturday by county authorities.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified the mans as Andriy Korshunov.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday to 4400 block of Woodman Avenue and Moorpark Street when the driver of the Maserati was traveling north on Woodman when they struck Korshunov and his dog, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took Korshunov to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver failed to stop or help Korshunov and drove away from the scene in an unknown direction and is still at large, according to the LAPD.
Police asked anyone with information about the crash or the driver to come forward. The city of Los Angeles has a standing $50,000 reward for information that leads to a person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run.
