A 31-year-old man was fatally struck by a car in Huntington Beach, authorities said Sunday.

Officers dispatched at about 9 p.m. Saturday to Beach Boulevard and Heil Avenue located a gray BMW 330i, and the pedestrian unconscious in the roadway, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Paramedics pronounced the 31-year-old Huntington Beach resident dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old man from Reseda, was uninjured and cooperated with police, according to the department.

The BMW had been going northbound on Beach Boulevard and struck the pedestrian south of the intersection with Heil Avenue.

“Impairment does not appear to be a factor,” according to a police statement. “It is unknown if impairment was a factor with the pedestrian.”
