A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Canyon Lake, authorities said Sunday.
The crash was reported around 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the area of Railroad Canyon Road and Canyon Lake Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in the roadway suffering from significant injuries. Deputies and paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station Traffic Team assumed the investigation, and alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor in the crash, officials said.
The identity of the woman was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
