A suspect who allegedly attacked family members was holed up in a South Angeles home Monday.
Officers were called around 6 a.m. to a report of a assault with a deadly weapon suspect in the 1000 block of East 53rd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to a broadcast report, family members got out of the home safely, but the suspect remained barricaded.
A SWAT team was at the scene attempted to coax the man’s surrender, but he remained holed up nearly six hours after the crisis began.
