A 30-year-old man who was killed in a shooting in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood of Los Angeles was identified by county authorities Monday.

The shooting occurred about 8:10 p.m. Sunday at 2233 S. Hobart Blvd., just east of South Western Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

A 30-year-old man and one thought to be 19 were standing in front of an apartment building when two men got out of a vehicle, fired shots at them, got back in the vehicle and drove away, the officer said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Los Angeles resident Damon Neal.

The younger man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where his vital signs were described as stable, the officer said.
