The county Board of Supervisors Tuesday extended a $20,000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who killed a 17-year-old high school graduate in Torrance.

Chyler Paton was fatally shot around 9 p.m. June 18, 2025, while attending an end-of-school-year pool party at a home in the 23000 block of Huber Avenue. Paton had just graduated from Culver City High School, where he played football.

“I’m asking anyone who knows something about Chyler’s killers to please speak up,” county Supervisor Janice Hahn said in a statement following the board’s approval of her motion to extend the reward, which was originally established last August. “His family have not only lived with his absence for months now, they’ve also been denied justice. Help us close this case.”

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call Torrance police at 310-618-5570, with case number 250021528.
