A 58-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a crash on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway, just north of Adams Boulevard , between USC and downtown Los Angeles.

The collision was reported at 6:17 a.m. Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol, a collision involving a motorcycle on the southbound side of the freeway

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, which later identified the man as Perry Hernandez.

The crash was still under investigation over an hour later and a SigAlert was issued for the closure of four southbound lanes.

Traffic was jammed in both directions of the freeway as the morning commute got underway in earnest.
