A fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service was found and apprehended, and another person at the Blythe residence was arrested during the search .
Deputies responded to a request for assistance in search of a wanted subject about 8:20 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of East Avenue A, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
In collaboration with the Blythe Police Department, the fugitive was found and apprehended. It was not immediately clear why the suspect, who was not identified, was wanted.
While at the residence, another person, who was on Post Release Community Supervision, was contacted by authorities. A search of the premises revealed “multiple unregistered firearms, methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms,” Martinez said.
The individual, whose name was not revealed, was arrested and booked at Blythe Jail on suspicion of narcotics and weapons violations.
The investigation was ongoing.
