A vehicle crashed into a power pole and caught fire Tuesday in North Hollywood, taking down electrical lines and prompting the evacuation of a nearby store.

The crash was reported at 11:29 a.m. in the 11000 block of West Burbank Boulevard, near Vineland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There was no entrapment and the vehicle’s occupants got out on their own by the time firefighters arrived, according to the LAFD.

A liquor store was evacuated because of the downed lines.

Two patients were evaluated at the scene, but it was unclear if either was seriously injured.

There were unconfirmed reports from the location that an electric vehicle was involved.

The L.A. Department of Water and Power was summoned to deal with a damaged pole and fallen lines.

“The area is being secured and traffic is closed in all directions at the intersection,” according to LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
