One person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday morning on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Long Beach.
The multiple-vehicle crash was reported at 6:53 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway just north of Long Beach Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of the southbound carpool lane and two left main lanes.
Southbound traffic was backed up to Avalon Boulevard.
Northbound traffic was also affected, starting at the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.
