Two people were injured Wednesday in a three-vehicle wreck at a Moreno Valley intersection between two shopping centers.
The collision was reported at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday at Campus Parkway and Day Street, just south of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and found the vehicles with substantial damage, partially blocking the intersection.
Two motorists suffered minor to moderate injuries, while a third reportedly declined medical attention at the scene. No one required extrication.
The injured parties, whose identities were not disclosed, were taken to nearby Riverside University Medical Center for treatment.
Sheriff’s deputies partially closed the intersection at 11:15 a.m. for public safety and to conduct a preliminary investigation. The closure was expected to be lifted by 1 p.m.
The intersection is among the busiest in Moreno Valley, with vehicles flowing out of the Moreno Valley Mall to the east and the Campus Springs Shopping Center to the west.
