An Ebony Alert is in effect Saturday for a 13-year-old boy reported missing in Gardena.

Chance William was last seen Friday at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday near 168th Street and South Western Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert Saturday on behalf of the Gardena Police Department.

Chance is Black, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and was seen carrying a black backpack. Authorities believe Chance is traveling on foot.

Anyone who sees Chance or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.

Ebony Alerts are issued to help locate missing Black children, teenagers, and young adults ages 12 to 25 who have disappeared under unexplained or suspicious circumstances, or who are at risk, developmentally disabled, cognitively impaired or abducted.

  1. It would be great to get pictures of the missing individuals when you post these instead of generic stock photos.
