A crash on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks left a motorcycle rider in grave condition Friday.
The rider collided with another vehicle about 10:50 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway at the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rider, a man who appeared to be in his mid- to late 50s, ended up down in the center lane.
He was in grave condition when paramedics took him to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One other person who was in fair condition was also taken to a hospital, an LAFD spokeswoman said.
The crash backed up westbound traffic to Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
