A former teacher who pleaded no contest to sex-related crimes involving two underage female students was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Joshua Daniel McGinn pleaded no contest Feb. 27 to two felony counts of oral copulation with a person under 18 and one felony count each of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 16 and possession of child pornography, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
McGinn worked as an English teacher at Charter Oak High School, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Jail records show that McGinn has remained behind bars since his Dec. 18, 2024, arrest by Covina police.
