The Santa Monica Pier will reopen Monday after a shooting left two people wounded last night.
The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. Sunday. Officer were dispatched to the pier after shots were reported, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Preliminary information indicated there was a large fight involving multiple people before shots rang out and two people suffered what were believed non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The cause of the fight was not immediately known.
Arriving officers tended to the wounded until paramedics arrived to take them to a hospital, police said.
The age, genders and conditions of the wounded were not immediately available.
Officers secured the shooting scene for their investigation.
A watch commander said Monday morning that the pier would be open Monday, but the shooting investigation continues.
