A 26-year-old man was found dead in the Hyde Park area of South Los Angeles Tuesday morning, police said.
Officers were called to the area of 59th Street and Third Avenue around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
They found a man with at least one gunshot wound, an LAPD officer said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, which is south of Slauson Avenue and west of Van Ness Avenue.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Donmaid Brooks.
The case was being investigated as a homicide, police said.
