Authorities sought additional potential victims Wednesday connected to a 32-year-old woman suspected of sexual misconduct involving minors, who has since been taken into custody.
Elizabeth Elizarraraz was arrested on Thursday, stemming from allegations of a sexual assault of a minor, which prompted an ongoing investigation by detectives assigned to the Special Victims Bureau, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s officials stated that Elizarrararaz’s case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday which charged her with six counts of lewd acts upon a child.
Investigators determined, based on preliminary information, that Elizarraraz initially met the victim at an after-school program in the 24900 block of Newhall Avenue, where she was employed, and the victim attended.
”Based on the nature of the offenses, coupled with the facts that Ms. Elizarraraz has had contact with numerous juveniles in the course of her employment, detectives believe there may be additional unidentified victims,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.
Elizarraraz was described as a 5-foot-6-inch-tall Hispanic woman weighing 205 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information regarding the alleged assault or victims who want to come forward was urged to contact Special Victims Bureau Sgt. Joseph Mesa at 661-471-1519 or email specialvictimsbureau@lasd.org. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
