A man was stabbed in the upper body during an attack by a suspect he knew in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.
Officers dispatched at about 10:10 p.m. Saturday to a report of a stabbing in the 6200 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near Loynes Drive in the Belmont Shore area, located the victim suffering from his injuries, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Arriving paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was expected to survive, authorities said.
“The suspect fled the scene prior to officer arrival,” according to a police statement. “The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and the male adult suspect are known to each other. The investigation is ongoing.”
