An investigation was underway Monday into the death of a 39-year-old man found in a dirt lot in Indio.
The man was found shortly after 1 p.m. Friday on Monroe Street, north of John Nobles Avenue, according to the Indio Police Department. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said there were no signs of foul play, and the cause of his death was not immediately known.
An autopsy was pending Monday.
