An 18-year-old man was gunned down in Mecca and authorities continued investigating his death Wednesday.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Coahuilla and Sixth streets, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The found the victim, identified as Anjel Rodriguez of Thermal, suffering from gunshot wounds. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests were reported, and no further information about the shooting was immediately available. Anyone with information regarding the death was asked to call the department at 760-863-8990.
