A Silver Alert issued for a 71-year old woman who was last seen in Irvine was deactivated Wednesday after she was found.

Shuhua Gao was last seen at approximately 8:22 p.m. Tuesday near Winnett and Peak, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Irvine Police Department.

The LASD reported that Gao was found at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
