Police Thursday were investigating a two-vehicle crash in Pomona that left two people dead and one person in custody.
According to multiple media reports, officers from the Pomona Police Department were pursuing a suspect in a black Dodge pickup truck around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday traveling southbound on South Garey Avenue near Philadelphia Street. The pickup then struck another vehicle at the intersection of Garey and County Road.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene, where they pronounced the two victims — whose names, ages and genders were not immediately known — dead at the scene, Fox11 reported.
In addition to the pickup, a silver Ford sedan was involved in the collision, and video from the scene showed both vehicles sustained significant damage. Glass, clothing and other debris was seen strewn along the roadway.
It was not immediately clear why police were pursuing the suspect, who was arrested at the scene.
