A man and a woman were killed after a semi-truck and a vehicle collided on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sunland, the California Highway Patrol reported Saturday.
The collision trapped the victims inside the vehicles, Officer Michael Nasir told City News Service.
CHP officers were called to the eastbound freeway, east of Sunland Boulevard, at 9:53 p.m. Friday regarding a collision. They found the victims, a 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, who were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.
A Sigalert issued at 10:40 p.m. Friday closing the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of the eastbound freeway at Sunland Boulevard was canceled at 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
