A vehicle pursuit of a felony suspect that originated in the downtown Los Angeles area Wednesday ended in a crash at a freeway off-ramp in Downey and possible gunfire from police.
The pursuit began at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Station, according to an LAPD’s Media Relations spokesperson, who added that she had no other immediate information.
The chase ended with a crash on an off-ramp from the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway in the Downey area, and reports from the scene indicated that police opened fire on the suspect, who was still in the disabled sedan.
