A 45-year-old man suspected of a residential burglary in Blythe has been taken into custody, authorities announced Wednesday.

Deputies assigned to the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station responded at approximately 6:27 p.m. on Tuesday to the 18000 block of U.S. Highway 95 to reports of a burglary, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect fled before deputies arrived, prompting authorities to broadcast a description to aid in his capture.

He was ultimately located and taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff’s officials said deputies identified the suspect as Marcus Fultz of Quartzsite, Arizona, who was in possession of property connected to the alleged burglary.

Fultz was booked into the Blythe Jail on suspicion of residential burglary and possession of stolen property.
