A woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries when she was bitten by a dog near the Los Angeles River in Long Beach, police said Monday.
The attack was reported at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday near the river and Anaheim Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police said officers had to use a baton to strike the animal and deploy a Taser to separate the dog from the woman.
The woman was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to her upper body.
According to police, investigators later determined that two dogs were involved in the attack. The dogs were captured and being held by city animal-control officials.
It was unclear who, if anyone, owned the dogs.
