Actress and singer Sofia Carson will host the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Awards presentation later this month at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the organization announced Thursday.
The ceremony is scheduled for April 28.
Carson will present 15 achievements, which were previously announced in February.
The Scientific and Technical Awards honor individuals and companies whose developments have demonstrated a significant impact on motion picture production.
Carson has appeared in multiple films and television projects and is also a recording artist. She performed the Academy Award-nominated song “Applause” at the 95th Oscars.
“This year’s awards celebrate a global community of innovators who solve the industry’s most complex technical challenges,” Darin Grant and Rachel Rose, co-chairs of the Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards Committee, said in an earlier statement.
The Academy said the annual ceremony highlights advancements in filmmaking technology and celebrates contributions behind the scenes of the industry.
