A brush fire that burned approximately an acre of vegetation in the Sylmar area was contained Friday.
Los Angeles city firefighters responded around 5:05 p.m. to the area of Polk Street and Borden Avenue to assist Los Angeles County Fire Department crews, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze was quickly contained, and city firefighters were released while county crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and handle cleanup.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
