The driver of a yellow Chevrolet Corvette convertible is in police custody Friday after he crashed into another driver during a pursuit that started in Orange County and ended in Torrance.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect, who drove on several freeways evading police, was wanted for speeding in Orange County, according to broadcast reports.
The suspect entered Los Angeles County on the Artesia (91) Freeway in the Downey-Norwalk area around 8:04 p.m. Thursday, where the CHP took over the chase, Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
CBS LA reported the driver drove though the Compton area, where he almost crashed into the back of another car. As he entered Torrance, he crashed into a vehicle at Sepulveda and Hawthorne boulevards.
Kravig said Torrance Police Department officers took over the pursuit as the suspect continued to avoid police. Officers boxed him in and took him into custody at Sepulveda and Hawthorne boulevards, CBS LA reported.
