An 81-year-old man was fighting for his life Friday following a collision with an e-bike in Lake Forest.
The pedestrian was struck by a 14-year-old riding the vehicle about 4 p.m. Thursday near Toledo Way and Ridge Route Drive, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition Friday, deputies said. His name and city of residence were not immediately released.
The teen fled the area on the vehicle, which is an electric motorcycle designed for off-highway use, deputies said. Witnesses gave a description of the boy, which led to his arrest and booking into Orange County Juvenile Hall, deputies said.
