A person was hospitalized Saturday after being wounded in a shooting in Long Beach.
The shooting occurred about 9:50 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of Atlantic Avenue, just north of Long Beach Polytechnic High School, according to Long Beach Police Department spokesman Jordan McGinley.
The female victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her upper body, McGinley said.
Paramedics took her to a hospital for treatment. Her identity was not immediately revealed, and it was unclear if she is a student at the school. Her condition was also not immediately available.
It was also unclear whether the victim had been targeted in the gunfire.
An investigation into the shooting was ongoing, McGinley said.
