Officers arrested a man who allegedly robbed, beat and set on fire a 70-year-old man in downtown Los Angeles, police said Monday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at approximately 12:03 a.m. Monday to West Sixth and South Olive streets, where they found the victim on fire, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
According to the LAPD, the suspect approached the victim and began attacking him before setting him on fire, LAPD Officer Charles Miller told City News Service,
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, Mille said.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel took the victim to a hospital in critical condition.
According to reports from the scene, the victim suffered second degree burns in the attack.
