One person was killed in a crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway Monday in Burbank.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 3:40 a.m. Monday where they responded to the collision involving a dark-colored sedan, which crashed into a guard rail, a CHP spokesman told City News Service.
The victim, whose name, age or gender was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A SIgAlert was issued for the closure of the northbound freeway for several hours.
By about 5:50 a.m., the CHP announced it had reopened the carpool lane and two main lanes, but three lanes remained blocked.

I was the one that called this in. While I was on scene both males were responsive. The driver was trying to speak to me through the window and the passenger was utilizing his cell phone light. When firefighters and EMS arrived both males were still responsive.
