A fire where two people jumped from the second floor of a two-story garden style apartment building in Canoga Park Tuesday to escape a raging fire is being investigated Tuesday as a possible arson .
Los Angeles Fire Department fire crews were called at 2:39 a.m. Tuesday to 20947 W. Bryant St. and Parthenia Street where they found flames on the first floor, said LAFD spokesperson Jamie Stewart.
LAFD reported the two people jumped from the second floor, but their conditions were not immediately known.
The department’s Arson Section has been requested for an investigation of the fire.
It took 83 firefighters 28 minutes to extinguish the flames.
The incident commander requested the Department of Building and Safety and the Department of Water and Power to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
