Firefighters were battling a smoky fire at a single-family home in Northridge Saturday evening.
The fire was reported at 7:28 p.m. in the 18700 block of West Sunburst Street, west of Reseda Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
Heavy smoke was showing from the rear of the home when crews arrived, Lantz said. Firefighters planned to cut ventilation holes in the roof and enter the structure to extinguish the flames.
One person who was already outside the home was being treated by LAFD paramedics, she said. The nature of the person’s injuries was not immediately released.
