Police Monday sought the public’s help in identifying a suspect who fled after striking and injuring a pedestrian with an electric scooter in downtown Los Angeles.

Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 26 to reports of a woman struck by a southbound scooter on Main Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim was standing on the west sidewalk just south of Ninth Street when she was hit, police said.

The rider did not stop to render aid and fled in an unknown direction, police said. The injured woman later transported herself to a hospital, where she was treated.

A reward of up to $25,000 was being offered for information leading to the suspect’s identity, arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run collision was urged to contact the Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3713. Calls during non-business hours should be directed to 877-527-3247.
