A fire broke out in a two-story, garden-style apartment building where the roof collapsed in Koreatown Tuesday, but no injuries were reported.
The blaze, in a primarily residential neighborhood, was reported at 7:22 a.m. at 3221 James M. Wood Boulevard on the corner or Irolo Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the building’s attic, which partially collapsed as firefighters attacked the flames.
The firefight was continuing more than 30 minutes after the blaze was reported.
Traffic was being diverted around the intersection.
