A 42-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train in Pacoima was identified Thursday.
Firefighters responded at approximately 8:15 p.m. Tuesday to the 13500 block of Paxton Street, near San Fernando Road, to conduct a rescue after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a train.
Firefighters pronounced the victim dead at the scene, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jamie Stewart said.
The victim was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Sucha Singh, who sustained multiple blunt traumatic injuries after intentionally walking onto railroad tracks, authorities said.
A passenger on the train was evaluated, but no further injuries were reported, Stewart said.
