A man died when he was crushed beneath a car Friday in downtown Los Angeles.
Firefighters responded just after 3 a.m. to a report of a man trapped beneath a vehicle in the area of Pico Boulevard and Broadway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man, believed about 45 years old, was under the car when crews arrived and lifted the vehicle off of him.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton said.
Police were investigating how the man ended up under the car, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
