A man allegedly armed with a knife was wounded by at least one police officer who opened fire after encountering the suspect inside a home.
Officers were sent about 4:50 a.m. to investigate a possible burglary in the area of Normandie Avenue and 78th Street east of Manchester Square, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A department spokeswoman said no officers were injured, but according to a broadcast report, residents called police to report their was a man with a knife outside their home.
Officers encountered the suspect inside a home at the location, leading to at least one of them firing on the suspect, who was hit in an arm and taken to a hospital, according to CBS2.
